The From the Anvil Small Period Letter Plate is a Solid Brass or Bronze traditionally designed letter plate that creates an attractive option for numerous door types.
For traditional doors we have a system where the letter plate is fitted to the external side of the door and a letter tidy is fitted to the internal side to reduce drafts.
This Letter Plate is perfect for a multitude of property types; from townhouses with strikingly painted doors, country cottage front doors, to Edwardian timber doors.

Un-lacquered Polished Brass - From the Anvil's Polished Brass products come un-lacquered for authenticity. The finish may be maintained with Brasso, or left to acquire a darker and more aged patina.
Aged Brass - The un-lacquered brass achieves a timeless elegance, highly polished on all surface areas but aged to highlight the detail and design. This will tarnish in time as part of the ageing process but can be polished time and time again if a natural sheen is desired.
Polished Nickel - A highly polished finish with a nickel plating applied to solid brass which is salt tested to 480 hours. Similar to a polished chrome finish but with much warmer tones.
Polished Chrome - A highly polished finish which reflects like a mirror. A base metal of solid brass with quality chrome plating applied to its surface which is salt tested to 480 hours.
Satin Chrome - A highly polished finish which is brushed with a unidirectional finish to give the satin look. Created from a base metal of either solid brass or steel which then has a quality chrome plating process applied to its surface.
Aged Bronze - This finish is manufactured from solid un-lacquered bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper; with a rich, matt hue, due to the finishing process used to age the metal, this process initially darkens the material, however the finish will gradually oxidize over time revealing the warmer copper undertones. This finish has been salt tested to 480 hours.
Polished Bronze - (For both Internal and external use) - Manufactured from solid un-lacquered bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. This finish undergoes an accelerated ageing process and is then re-polished, leaving any decorative details dark and larger surface areas more polished. This finish has been salt tested to 480hours, which meets grade 5 British Standard.
